There are boots you buy. And there are boots you keep.
The Mellah were born in the Mellah of Tétouan, the leather quarter at the heart of the medina, where the craft of leather has passed from father to son for five centuries. This is not a factory: it is a workshop — full-grain leather, cut by hand and sewn with a saddler's stitch.
The leather is full-grain black cowhide, vegetable-tanned: supple, yet it holds the ankle. It develops a natural patina over time.
The side zip is a silver YKK, stitched in rather than glued, so it glides instead of catching.
The sole is stitched rubber, not glued: non-slip on wet ground and light enough to walk all day.
Each pair is made in Tétouan and finished by hand, then shipped from the south of France.
